Vela Microboards Australia Allies Update 4 January 2010
A big thank you to those of you who attended the Vela-brations event and the follow-up workshop ‘Working Together to Add Value to Family Support’, hosted by Vela Microboards Australia in late 2009. We hope you found them valuable & enjoyable experiences.

At Vela-brations, the membership structure of VMA was launched. This is a key plank to the ongoing sustainability of VMA, so it was heartening to have people and agencies take the opportunity to sign up as inaugural individual or corporate members.
Some of you have been long term allies of VMA, and have tracked the development of this important work of establishing microboards and VMA in Western Australia. We encourage you maintain that link by now becoming Stage 1 members. Membership will ensure that you are kept up to date with what’s happening in VMA via upcoming events and updates to the website. Members are entitled to a 33% discount on events. In 2010 those events will include a series of ‘taster’ workshops about the concepts and processes related to formation of a microboard. There will also be a subsidised annual update event for members.
Stage 1 Individual membership is $50 and Corporate membership is $250 GST inclusive. For further information, go to the membership page on this website.
The first taster workshop is scheduled for Feb 10 2010. People interested in a microboard for themselves or a family member, are warmly encouraged to attend this ‘Introduction to Microboards’ workshop.
This workshop will also coincide with the end of the transition period for informal allies receiving email updates from VMA. After February 10, membership benefits will apply to paid up members only.
